From 0% export and annual revenue of L.E 350,000 beginning 2003, the latest results show an export of 35% of the total production and annual revenue of L.E 1,300,000.
This was a direct result of reorganization, more defined staff responsibilities, as well as, the technical expertise of the Chilean and Egyptian consultants offered by HEIA.
In 2003, post harvest activities were performed off-site at the exporter.
In 2004, a temporary facility was constructed with an area of 250 m2, and furnished and operated by the exporter, on-site.
In 2005, the facility was expanded to 500 m2 and furnished and operated by the farm.
Short term plans include the two phase construction of an integrated post harvest center, while long term plans include a facility for the production of value added processed food products based on a local produce, such as salads, pre-cooked vegetables,…etc.
